South Padre Island Marathon November 14th 2015

South Padre Island MarathonThe South Padre Marathon is destined to become one of the Top Destination Marathons in the world, a true celebration of all you have accomplished in order to take your spot in the starting chute. It’s true that the journey is the reward, however, the journey is more rewarding when it takes you to South Padre Island. “Where You Finish Counts”

Down south, at the end of the world’s longest barrier island, you’ll find South Padre Island, home to the most scenic beaches in Texas. The blue waters of the Laguna Madre rest upon its western shore while the soft sand beaches on the east slide into the gentle surf of the Gulf of Mexico. In between, though only ½ mile wide, lies home to abundant wildlife, nightlife, shopping, first class dining, great family entertainment and of course, the most scenic beaches in all of Texas.

A scenic, flat course (only one hill in the entire 26.2 miles!) with sights and sounds that can only be found in South Padre, the perfect race for getting your qualifying time or setting a new PR.

This scenic, flat course (only one hill in the entire 13.1 miles!) is perfect for the first timer, the long timer, and the “I’m only gonna do this once” timer! Whether your goal is to check off a buck list item, set a new personal best time, or simply enjoy a run in an Island paradise, this event has it all!

From the moment you pass the Port Isabel Lighthouse and cross the Queen Isabella causeway, with the blue waters of the Lower Laguna Madre beneath you and the sun rising over the Gulf of Mexico before you, you’ll know that the months of training were spent wisely on an experience that can only be found at the South Padre Marathon and Half Marathon.
